Project: UNDERGROUND EFFLUENT PIPE
Client: Southeastern pulp & paper mill
General Scope: Over 5000 ft. of 24” and 30” diameter FRP pipe to carry effluent from the bleach plant to holding ponds.
Engineering/Procurement: BROWN & ROOT, INC. – Houston, Texas
Resin & Laminate Construction: Hetron 922L. All pipe was filament wound and utilized a 100 mil thick corrosion barrier.
Production Facts:
- Manufactured approximately 2600 ft. of 30” diameter pipe.
- Manufactured approximately 2800 ft. of 24” diameter pipe.
- Manufactured almost 2 dozen 60” diameter x 10’ high manholes.
- Pipe was manufactured in 40 ft. nominal lengths with bell & spigot/O-ring connections.
Special Project Notes: Fibrex learned that, in spite of freight costs from Washington State, Fibrex was awarded this order from a list of over 10 bidders.
